A Serbian-American artist, Bojana Dajovic was born in the former Yugoslavia in 1977, where she developed a uniquely self-taught style.
Since moving to the US in the 2010s, she has built up a formidable body of work, exploring an eclectic range of themes led by her insatiable curiosity, with its desires and temptations.
Her work comprises both figurative and abstract modes in a variety of media, with acrylic paint and oil sticks being her predominant choices. Wearing its heart on its sleeve, her art vividly and intimately represents her very personal internal struggles: the hesitations and decisions; the hopes, fears, illusions - and delusions too - that have helped her define her sense of place in the world.
